Answers to common questions about receiving in-home therapy with AVOLA Therapy.

All therapy is provided by licensed professionals: Occupational Therapists (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), Physical Therapists (PT), and Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA). Every clinician on our team is licensed by the State of Arizona and carries current credentials.
We provide therapy in your home across the Phoenix West Valley. Sessions are available Monday through Friday to fit your schedule.
We often schedule the first session in just a few days, depending on therapist availability, your location, and any insurance verification requirements. In some situations, earlier openings may be available.
Your therapist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation. This includes reviewing your medical history, assessing your current abilities and limitations, discussing your personal goals, and creating a customized treatment plan. The first visit usually takes about 60 minutes.
No. Our therapists bring everything needed for your sessions. We work with your existing home environment, which is one of the key advantages of in-home therapy. Your therapist may recommend simple items over time, but nothing is required to get started.
Yes. Every AVOLA therapist undergoes a thorough background check before joining our team. Your safety is our priority, and we take every precaution to ensure you are comfortable with the clinician entering your home.
We verify your insurance benefits before your first session and provide a cost estimate based on the information your insurer gives us so you have a clearer picture of expected charges. After each visit, we handle all claim submissions directly with your insurance provider. For questions about a specific bill, contact our billing team at billing@avolatherapy.com.
No. Under Arizona's Direct Access law, you can begin occupational and physical therapy without a physician referral or prescription. Simply contact us to schedule your first visit. If your insurance plan requires a referral for coverage, we will let you know during the benefits verification process.
In-home therapy is one-on-one. Your therapist's full attention is on you for the entire session. There are no shared gyms, no waiting rooms, and no distractions. Exercises are designed around your actual living environment, which means the skills you practice are directly applicable to your daily life.
Yes. We prioritize continuity of care. You will be matched with a therapist who specializes in your condition, and that same therapist will treat you throughout your course of care. Consistency builds trust and leads to better outcomes.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows us to offer that time slot to another patient. If you need to cancel with less notice due to an emergency, please call us as soon as possible.
You can reach us anytime by phone at (480) 999-3837 or by email at info@avolatherapy.com. Your therapist is also available to answer clinical questions related to your treatment plan.
