Everything you need to know about insurance, billing, and payment for in-home therapy.
AVOLA Therapy is both an in-network and out-of-network provider with most commercial insurance plans. We are also a Medicare-enrolled provider, which means Medicare patients receive in-network coverage. For all plans, we work directly with your insurance company to verify your benefits and maximize your coverage.
Before your first session, our team contacts your insurance provider to verify your therapy benefits. We confirm your coverage details, deductible status, copay or coinsurance amounts, and any authorization requirements. You receive a clear summary of your expected costs before treatment begins.
Yes. After verifying your benefits, we provide a written cost estimate based on the information available from your insurer so you have a clearer picture of expected costs. If an insurance company processes a claim differently than expected, we review the outcome with you and help resolve next steps.
We follow transparent billing practices. Your estimate is provided upfront based on the information we receive during benefits verification, and we communicate with you if a claim is processed differently than expected. Our goal is to help you understand your likely responsibility before treatment begins.
Yes. AVOLA Therapy is a Medicare-enrolled provider. Medicare Part B covers medically necessary occupational therapy and physical therapy services, including evaluations and treatment provided in your home. Standard Medicare cost-sharing applies (typically 20% after the annual deductible is met).
Under Arizona's Direct Access law, you do not need a physician referral to begin therapy. However, some insurance plans require a referral for out-of-network coverage. During benefits verification, we will let you know if your specific plan requires one and help you obtain it if needed.
We offer competitive self-pay rates for patients who prefer not to use insurance or who do not have therapy coverage. Contact us at (480) 999-3837 for current pricing. Self-pay patients receive the same quality of care and the same personalized treatment plans as insured patients.
Coverage for durable medical equipment varies by plan. If your therapist recommends adaptive equipment or devices as part of your treatment, we can help you understand your coverage options and navigate the process.
Yes. Families with Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funds can use them for occupational therapy services through AVOLA Therapy.
